Fair warning…the following is nothing but sheer cheesy goodness. I took these snapshots one night at the Tabernacle at a Wisconsin Cheese Event. The celebration was held as part of the International Deli-Dairy-Bake Expo. After I finished taking these wonderful pictures, I started helping all of the other cheese-loving attendees devour the evidence. Not a bad way to spend an evening, right?
There was more cheese on display for the taking than I could post here so let’s just call this a cheese sampler. The one above is Dofino Caraway Havarti. Other tasting cheeses included:
Black Creek Double Smoked Cheddar,
Assorted Roth Cheeses,
Dofino Edam,
Stella Rubbed Mediterranean Parmesan,
Assorted BelGioioso Cheeses,
BelGioioso Creamy Gorg,
Crystal Farms Chipotle Cheddar,
Klondike Odyssey Sweet Heat Feta,
and Sartori Cheeses.
One of the tastier parts of the event was the menu of cheese inspired savory bites that were either passed or available for sampling from several attended stations like these Fried Chicken “Sushi Rolls” filled with collards and Masters Gallery pepper jack drizzled with apple BBQ sauce.
Pork Belly Stack – Fried green tomato, Dofino havarti and chiffonade of greens finished with pecan aioli.
Baby Red Bite – Baby red potato stuffed with a creamy blend of Roth Grand Cru Reserve, roasted garlic and caramelized onions.
There were also sweeter bites including Dessert Pops,
Cashew Caramel Cheese Stick – Roth Gran Queso encased in caramel, rolled in salted cashews with a chocolate drizzle, and
Apricot Cheese Tarts – Mini tart made with Sartori BellaVitano Gold custard and apricot compote topped with roasted walnuts.
To take the Wisconsin Cheese Event celebration to the next level, which is essentially a party, there was live entertainment. What better way to burn off all of that wonderful cheese love than to dance the night away.
