I adore food, blogging about food and even learning about how to blog about food. Today I started a virtual class which should help me take this passion to the next level. With the help of The SITS Girls and Blogger Babes, I’m hoping that I can make this lovely space profitable by stepping up my blog game. If you share the same aspirations, please do follow along!
So far, Day 1 is shaping up nicely. I checked my email to find a link to The Ultimate Blogging Binder courtesy of Blogger Babes. The table of contents alone has me all kinds of excited about the potential of this space if I put the work in.
The assignment today is to use the monthly calendar to determine the frequency in which I’ll post in 2016 and which days I’ll publish. It’s like they know me because this is my Achilles heel as I have a tendency to fall short of expectations with regard to scheduling posts. I’ve been doing physical life with family and community a lot more lately because I feel the good stuff can be missed if I’m focused on my virtual one. I would love to do better and hope that this class will help me with being consistent while maintaining some sense of balance.
In keeping with the spirit of the assignment, without biting off more than I can chew, I’m going to put forth a considerable effort to post twice per week. I think Mondays and Thursdays are doable. As far as word count goes, I’m going to have to think about that. I love photos and prefer them over words and believe they often speak louder. Obviously, when it comes to sharing recipes, the details matter but with everything else, I’d prefer to keep the narrative to a minimum.
With that said, my first assignment is done. If you’re participating in the Building A Profitable Blog class this week, I’d love to know your response to the assignment today. How frequently do you plan to post? What disciplinary tactics will you use to maintain your schedule?
