For burger cravers who don’t mind immersing themselves in an energetic & modern “see and be seen setting” with a glass of wine to swirl, this is for you.
Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, located near the front entrance of Lenox Square Mall, opened its doors to Atlanta diners just over a week ago in true celebratory form. The red carpet was rolled out to members of the media, Atlanta food bloggers and PR agencies for an evening filled with lively music and plenty of delicious food and drinks.
After entering the open space and finding a table to occupy, it didn’t take long for the tastes to start circling around. Servers who genuinely seemed happy to be there presented tray after tray of sample sized items from the menu including the Zinburger with Manchego Cheese, Zinfandel Braised Onions & Mayo, Kobe Burger topped withCheddar Cheese, Wild Mushrooms & Mayo and their Ahi Sandwich with Coleslaw, Avocado, Tamari Soy Glaze & Mayo (not pictured). The regular menu also includes a veggie burger and a turkey burger for those looking for an alternative protein.
The salads served that night were the B.L.T. with Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon, Parmesan Cheese, Tomato & Cowboy Ranch Dressing, The Napa with Organic Greens, Dried Fruit, Marcona Almonds, Goat Cheese & Goat Cheese Vinaigrette and, my favorite, a Chinese Chicken salad with Chopped Greens, Napa Cabbage, Orange Segments, Carrots, Red Peppers, Wonton Chips & Asian Vinaigrette. This particular salad felt hearty and was a nice mix of textures and flavors which I enjoyed.
The sides included Onion Rings w/BBQ Sauce for dipping, Double Truffle Fries w/Truffle Aioli and Sweet Potato Fries w/Yogurt Dipping Sauce. When onion rings and fries are seasoned well, I tend to eat them alone so I really can’t say much about how well the bites pair with the sauces. If you’re a dipper, you may want to give them a shot and see how you like them. I can say that the onion rings and sweet potato fries were quite good and the Truffle Fries required my acquisition of its taste. I ate them all, so you can do the math on that.
Zinburger also offers a diverse beverage menu with 22 wines by glass, 17 varieties of beers and assorted cocktails. Two popular drinks sipped on during the opening were the Red Zingria, a blend Red Zinfandel, Triple Sec, Fresh Lime, and Raspberry and a very popular Girl Next Door. This cocktail was a mixture of Smirnoff Vodka, Veev Acai Liqueur and Strawberry.
The shakes were rich and not to be missed. There are several on the menu so diners can surely find something that fits their own taste. My favorite of the night was the Salted Caramel (Dulce de Leche Ice Cream & Sea Salt). It was truly crave-worthy!
For dessert there was Chocolate Cream Pie and Banana Cream Pie. Both were sweet, well portioned finishes to a fantastic evening.
To be noted, the Grand Opening celebration included a beneficiary, Camp Twin Lakes, “a local non-profit that provides year-round camp experiences for children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and other challenges.” Zinburger offered limited edition VIP Gold Cards for sale with proceeds benefitting the organization which I think is a pretty cool thing to do.
Thank you to Tom at DFPR and to ZinburgerEast for a fantastic evening!
