Midtown Restaurant Week is back for its 10th year. If you have any of the community’s 40+ participating restaurants on your bucket list, now is a good time to give it a try. Last Thursday, I participated in a walking taste tour which included stops at four appealing dining destinations – Mi Cocina, Einstein’s, STK Atlanta and Lure.
Our first stop was Mi Cocina, a Tex Mex restaurant located at 1080 Peachtree St. The private dining room we gathered in was as beautiful as it was spacious. It’s typically reserved for special events and is situated upstairs just beyond a semi-private seating area and an open space for larger parties.
While there, we were treated to some light bites and beverages. We started with Housemade Guacamole, Salsa, Queso w/Pico de Gallo and Tortilla Chips. I’ve said before that I’m not a big fan of the green stuff but I’ve tried a couple pretty decent ones lately which is increasing my tolerance for it. Fresh ingredients make all the difference which is an important factor for this and the other menu items.
For sipping we were offered Beer, Wine and a couple cocktails. One was a Mambo Taxi which is Mi Cocina’s frozen Margarita with a Sangria swirl. The other was a refreshing Mojito.
We also tried Shrimp Brochette,
Ceviche de Camarones,
and Tacos “De Brisket”.
I enjoyed the vibe and the food at Mi Cocina enough t(o want to return for a complete dining experience with Steeler Fan. For those wishing to try them out for Midtown Restaurant Week you can view their menus on OpenTable.
Our next stop was Einstein’s. – Read More
