You ever wake up in the morning thinking about all the fun you had the night before? That’s exactly how I felt when I started this post. I spent an evening with 13 other bloggers and media for a cocktail party + dinner at The Capital Grille in Dunwoody and let me tell you, it was a beautiful experience.

The staff at The Capital Grille presented one of the finer dining experiences I’ve had in a while. They pampered us with amazing cocktails and appetizers while our collective celebrated being together again with hugs and life updates.

Our hostess for the evening was Milla Williams of Happily Eating. She’s one of the busiest women I know and I’m so very happy for her successes. You know we have to give love and lend support to women when they’re handling their business. I can only see good things happening for her in 2016.

2 cocktails

Our evening started with the obvious – – Cocktails! We were initially offered The Capital Grille’s signature martini, the STOLI DOLI. It’s made with Stolichnaya Vodka infused with fresh pineapple and served chilled and straight up. It’s an easy to get used to sipper.

The next couple of drinks were diner’s choice. I opted for the MOJITO DE UVAS. Hands down, it’s the best Mojito I’ve ever had. It’s a wonderful combination of Bacardi Light Rum, fresh squeezed lime juice, cane sugar syrup, fresh mint and green grapes, topped with chilled Champagne.

My last glass was filled with a BLACKBERRY BOURBON SIDECAR made with Woodford Reserve, blackberries, Cointreau, lemon juice and fresh thyme. This drink is one I had to cradle a bit. It’s was a bit strong but still quite good.

With our cocktails, we snacked on bar appetizers like PAN FRIED CALAMARI with Hot Cherry Peppers, Sliced FILET MIGNON with Cipollini Onions and Wild Mushrooms with a fig essence drizzle, CAST IRON GARLIC SHRIMP with Olive Oil Crostini and MINI TENDERLOIN BURGERS.

1 chilean sea bass

Afterwards, we ordered dinner. There were several popular steak options and, fortunately for me, seafood choices as well. I opted for Chilean Sea Bass in a Mushroom Soy Broth with a small side of Soy Glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and a taste of Lobster Mac ‘N’ Cheese. The fish was moist and tender; the broth warm and comforting. I’m so happy I decided to give Brussels Sprouts another chance. It’s always a surprise to me whenever I try it and find that I love them!

3 dessert

After dinner, we shared three truly decadent desserts. There was The Capital Grille Cheesecake Brûlée Style with fresh berries, Classic Creme Brûlée with seasonal berries and Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake with cocoa powder and fresh raspberries.

When you’re sharing dessert, you really get a sense of people’s favorites – like Creme Brûlée. Two ramekins catching the eyes of multiple admirers is almost comical. Just a taste will do in most cases, however, when it comes to Creme Brûlée, “have a taste” might be considered fighting words. {wink}

The cheesecake was also completely satisfying as was the chocolate cake. It’s a rich luxurious dessert.

4 cappuccino

Of course, where there is chocolate, there must be some form of coffee. This cappuccino was the perfect finish to our evening at The Capital Grille. This visit was my first and what an introduction it turned out to be. Thank you Milla and to everyone at The Capital Grille for a beautiful evening!
