BOA Party - sweet 001
Hazelnut Date Cake Doughnut with Ganache and Passionfruit Curd from DUTCH MONKEY DOUGHNUTS

A week ago I attended the Best of Atlanta Party with Steeler Fan courtesy of Atlanta Magazine via The Atlanta Food Bloggers’ Society. In this post written prior to the event I shared some information about the event and its beneficiary, The Giving Kitchen.  Today, I’m sharing some photos taken at the event because they tell a pretty tasty story all on their own.

Let’s start with these cupcakes from Sprinkles. If you’ve been to Lenox Square then you’re probably already familiar with the bake shop. If not, those cupcakes in the picture and a lot more are what you’re missing.

The Mocha Mousse Parfaits from Sun in my Belly were so indulgent. I’ve been going through this inexplicable chocolate craving phase and had a difficult time staying away from these. As a matter of fact, I could really use one or two of these now.

There was a lovely display of wedding cakes by Sweet Caroline’s in addition to individually packaged sweets stacked conveniently on the table for guests to take.  I love how they stacked a bunch into this vintage suitcase. One of the fun things about the Best of Atlanta Party were the booth props and decorations.

There were plenty of savory samples to pick from throughout the evening including a hugely popular burger from Steinbeck’s.  Once the line formed at this booth, it just stayed there.

This is the Coop. The area was sponsored by Springer Mountain Farms and housed several restaurants serving dishes inspired by chicken.  There were a few chefs who kept it simple but interesting with sausage samples and others who served dishes whose descriptions read like short stories. Fortunately for us, the stories were quite tasty in the end.

A few food trucks were on the floor which I loved because they made the space & overall event feel comfortable, laid back and happy.

Tex’s Tacos was Steeler Fan’s favorite that night. You can bet we’ll see these guys again real soon.

One of the lovely features of the Best of Atlanta Party were the seating areas like this one by West Elm.  They did a fantastic job of creating a living room that felt both elegant and intimate despite the grand space of the ballroom.

Even the DJ area displayed a sense of style while pumping out some high energy old school jams while we all noshed to our hearts content. The guys at House of Music Entertainment set the mood and kept it going. Until…

Yacht Rock Schooner took the stage and transported us all back to the 70s. These guys are a different kind of cool.

The Best of Atlanta Party was a fun event. I don’t usually celebrate like this in the middle of the week (on a Wednesday) but I would do it again.  I along with many other attendees were able to revisit some dining favorites and even better, we discovered some new ones.  Chefs from all of the featured restaurants were able demonstrate why they have been featured at some point in Atlanta Magazine as one of the Best in Atlanta.
