A couple nights ago, Steeler Fan and I had an opportunity to dine at Seasons 52 to sample some of their new mini indulgence desserts. The restaurant “will now offer nine different Mini Indulgence options with a changing selection so guests can always discover something new.” Before I explain further, let’s take a look at the sips and nibbles we reveled in before our sweets.
Upon being seated comfortably in the warm decor of the restaurant, Steeler Fan and I were greeted by Kim, our server for the evening. She politely took our Flatbread order, then returned with three glasses of wine for us to sample. They were Selbach-Oster Riesling Auslese (left), Catena Vista Flores Malbec (center) and Warre Otima 10 year Tawny Port (right). Kim kindly offered a brief description of each, then left us to enjoy them at our own pace. Later Kris Ewing, the Beverage Manager stopped by to greet us and to make sure we were enjoying the selection. They each were very nice choices for us.
The Flatbread we chose was the Grilled Garlic Pesto Chicken. I’ve had my fair share of flatbread before but this was notably light, fresh and flavorful. I also ADORE thin crusts so I was really in a happy place. From the char on the roasted red peppers to the subtle sweetness of the onions, I enjoyed every bite.
Steeler Fan was also pleased with it but he had the Blackened Steak & Blue Cheese Flatbread on the brain the whole time so we ordered one to take home with us as well as their Sesame Grilled Salmon Salad. Have you ever had steak or salmon cooked so well you kinda secretly wanted to go to the back of the house to check out the grill? Just sayin’.
Now back to those little confections…
An added treat to our dining experience was having Chef Kyle present a tempting tray of nine Mini Indulgence Desserts to chose from. He thoughtfully explained how each was prepared and highlighted their special finishes like the Black Lava Salt sprinkled on top of the Butterscotch Budino and the Candied Carrot topping the Carrot Cake with Cinnamon Honey. The other options included: Blueberries with Lemon Curd, Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte, Belgian Chocolate S’More, Key Lime Meringue Pie, Pecan Pie with Vanilla Bean Mousse, Mocha Macchiato and Raspberry Chocolate Chip Cannoli. About the new additions:
The decadent Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte begins with chocolate cake baked in-house. The rich cake is layered with chocolate sauce, peanut butter mousse and chocolate peanut crunch, then garnished with a tuile – a housemade peanut crisp.
The Belgian Chocolate S’More is Seasons 52’s take on the classic campfire treat. This new Mini Indulgence features chocolate cake layered with chocolate mousse and chocolate chips, then topped with a toasted marshmallow and a chocolate dipped graham cracker.
The new Fresh Blueberries & Lemon Curd mini features vibrant, creamy lemon curd slow-cooked in-house at Seasons 52. The curd is mixed with blueberries, topped with whipped cream, and finished with a sprig of Chervil.
The full assortment of Mini Indulgence Desserts is available now at Seasons 52. You can visit their website for more information and to view their menu. Steeler Fan and I enjoyed what we’re calling our discovery visit and look forward to returning so we can try other items on the menu.
