I’ve moved several times in my life and grew pretty accustomed to the “idea” of it early in my marriage. Steeler Fan’s work required that we move every couple of years as he climbed the ladder. Now that we’re years past all of that, I’ve grown to enjoy being in one place. However, I would be perfectly willing to pick up and go if the right opportunity knocked. Here are four things that would get me packing:
4. Dream job – I don’t even know what it is yet but if someone calls me and tells me they have a once in a lifetime dreamy opportunity, I’m taking it.
3. Retirement – There’s a cute little hut on a tropical beach with my name on it. I’ve been known to tell folks where to find me when I retire. I’ll sell sea shells during the day. At night – - – well …. what goes on at the beach will stay at the beach.
2. Smothering Mothering – Miss A wants to go to college on the other side of the world next year. Okay maybe California is not that far but it’s certainly far enough from Georgia. One of the best fashion design schools in the country is there. I checked. I’ll miss her dearly of course and have decided that if she needs me, I’ll move to the place where the ground shakes sometimes. Let’s cross our fingers and hope that Miss A doesn’t need mommy to move.
1. Dream House – I am a city loving country girl. My dream home is a white farmhouse with black shutters, real wood floors, and wrap around porch with a rickety screen door that slams shut because the spring is always broken. I’m ready for it and would move without hesitation if the call came today that it was ready for me.
This post was inspired by Mama Kat’s Pretty Much World Famous Writer’s Workshop. The prompt I chose this week was: 5.) What would it take for you to get up and move?

A Breakfast Craving
Pictured above is what I want for breakfast this morning. It’s the Spinach & Artichoke Souffle from Panera. Add a hot cup of Honey Ginseng Tea and my day will be off to a great start.

good reasons, especially the smothering. I have spent too much time away from family, now as my kids are getting older the last thing I want is for them to be far away!! I would move in a heart beat to be near them…but prefer they stay close…cuz my husband seems firmly planted here in frozen NOrth Dakota!

Camesha, I remember that sound from my childhood. It’s so weird the things we hold on to. I’m glad you enjoyed the pics!

This is such a great list…I would totally move for the same reasons! I’m all about the smothering.

I somehow missed your post last week!
I did the same prompt as you.
I smiled at the smothering/mothering reason. I can identify with it as my children are approaching college age. One is standing right at the doorway of it!
Your breakfast looks amazing….I want to wake up in your home!
Be blessed,
Kristi

Honestly, I had a little bit of a hard time concentrating on your posts. Each picture on your site made me want to click on it. Everything looks sooooo yummy!
I think that you covered every reason that I would use for moving. I couldn’t agree more.
