It’s time again for another Writer’s Workshop hosted by Mama Kat at Mama’s Losin It! Here’s the prompt I chose….
Welcome to the most shocking rose ceremony in writing prompt history. Please award roses to the ten people (or items) in your life that you’d like to continue pursuing a relationship with.
My Son & Daughter – You’re just awesome no matter how many grey hairs you give me! I love you both the same. I proudly award each of you your very own roses. They’re exactly the same size, the petals are exactly the same shape and the color variations are exactly the same.
Museums - You so totally inspire me with your paintings, fine furnishings, fabulous jewelry, historical artifacts, and stuff. Please accept this rose.
Cake - You complete me. Here’s a rose for you.
Library Card - Thank you for granting me a license to take home up to 99 books at a time whether I chose to read them or just look at the pretty pictures. A rose for you.
Book Club - I must offer a special rose to you for encouraging me to actually read at least one of the books I check out at the library.
My Little Sister - We have lots in common and I really appreciate that fact. Here’s a rose for you to adore.
Scrabble - You rock! You’re my favorite even if I rarely get letters or spaces on the board to use with the letter “Q”. Please accept this R-O-S-E.
Starbucks Mug - You have done such a great job of holding my coffee, tea & cider over the years. And you don’t even complain when I sit on you on my desktop warmer hour upon hour. Thank you! I award you a rose too.
Laptop – You’re the most efficient personal assistant a woman could have. Who knew you could do so much in such a little space? You help me keep up with my recipes, bills, my ever changing calendar and most of the other things that dictate my life. You’re absolutely amazing. Please accept this rose.
DSL – I had dial up once. Words cannot explain how much you mean to me. Here’s a rose for you!
This concludes our ceremony. Thanks for joining us.
Here are the other Writer’s Workshop prompts:
- Time for your tangent…what is your latest complaint?
- If you could have given yourself a snapshot five years ago of what your life is like now, what would the picture be of and how do you think you would have felt about it?
- What’s in YOUR name? What does it mean? Why was it given to you? etc..
- Write a letter to the first person who ever broke your heart.
Read Mama Kat’s post then find out how you can participate.
